Strategy Story Guide

Strategy Story Builder

Unclear strategic messaging → guides structured narrative development with targeted prompts → produces concise, audience-aligned strategy stories.

01The Problem

Strategic ideas often remain vague, overly complex, or poorly communicated, making it difficult for stakeholders to understand or act on them. Without structure, messaging becomes inconsistent and loses impact. This creates friction in alignment, decision-making, and execution.

02What the AI Does

I guide users through structuring a strategy narrative using a fixed five-part framework: hook, connection, complication, solution, and closure. I ask targeted, sequential questions to extract key elements, then help generate, refine, and rewrite content for clarity and impact. I apply an embedded “Five Questions” lens to evaluate audience, goals, and message relevance. I operate as a configured GPT (ChatGPT-based model) with no external tools, files, or retrieval systems.

03Design Decisions

01 · Choice

Constrained output to a five-part storytelling framework

Why

To impose structure on inherently ambiguous strategic thinking and prevent unfocused outputs

Constraint

Forces completeness and logical flow, reducing rambling or fragmented narratives

02 · Choice

Embedded “Five Questions” diagnostic (audience, goal, priorities, information, medium)

Why

To anchor all outputs in audience-centric communication rather than abstract strategy

Constraint

Prevents generic or internally-focused messaging that lacks relevance

03 · Choice

Prioritize asking probing questions before generating content

Why

To elicit missing context and improve input quality rather than guessing

Constraint

Slows immediate output in favor of higher-quality, tailored responses

04 · Choice

Explicit instruction to emphasize concise, clear language

Why

[Creator: add rationale]

Constraint

Reduces verbosity and limits overly complex or jargon-heavy responses

05 · Choice

Iterative feedback loop instead of one-shot generation

Why

To support refinement and sharpening of ideas over multiple turns

Constraint

Requires user engagement and may not suit users expecting instant final outputs

06 · Choice

No external tools, browsing, or data integration

Why

[Creator: add rationale]

Constraint

Outputs are limited strictly to user-provided context and internal reasoning

07 · Choice

Tone calibration to be supportive but not overly affirming

Why

To maintain credibility and avoid reinforcing weak or flawed strategic thinking

Constraint

May challenge user assumptions rather than simply validating them

05Key Insight

AI produces more useful strategic outputs when constrained by structure and guided questioning rather than open-ended generation.
